A button is greyed out or missing
Why a button is off or not there, whether it's your role, a full plan limit, credits or a step to finish first, and the steps that turn it back on.
When a button is greyed out or missing, SemPost almost always says why in a line near it. There are four usual reasons: your role only lets you look, a limit of your plan is full, there aren't enough credits, or something has to be done first, such as ticking a box. Find what you see below and follow the steps.
Your role only lets you look
Your role shows under the workspace's name at the top of the sidebar, and on the Team page. A page you can only read says so near the top, for example:
- Only owners and admins can change these settings.
- Owners and admins connect and remove accounts.
- Editors, admins and owners create posts.
- Admins and the owner approve. You can edit posts, send them for approval and delete them.
- The workspace owner makes purchases.
To get it done:
- Ask an owner or an admin to do it, or to give you a role that can, in Settings › Team.
- Only an owner can make someone an owner, and only an owner buys.
What each role can do is in Roles and what each can do.
A limit of your plan is full
Reaching a limit removes nothing: SemPost just doesn't add more. Plan and use in Settings › Billing shows each limit with full beside the ones you've reached.
Connect is off on Social accounts
Every account in your plan is in use. To connect another, remove one, buy an extra account or upgrade your plan.
- In Settings › Social accounts, press Remove on an account you no longer post to, or
- the owner presses Buy an extra account under Accounts in your plan: see Extra social accounts, or
- the owner moves to a bigger plan with Change plan in Settings › Billing.
An account that only needs reconnecting can always be reconnected, even when the plan is full.
Connect a store is off
All the stores in your plan are in use. Remove one or upgrade your plan to add another.
- In Settings › Store connections, press Remove on a store you no longer use, or
- the owner moves to a plan with more stores.
In a workspace that came from the Shopify app there's no Connect a store at all: This workspace's store comes from the SemPost app in Shopify, so stores aren't connected by hand here.
Invite teammate is off
Your plan's … seats are in use: members and pending invitations count.
- In Settings › Team, press Revoke on an invitation nobody accepted, or
- press Remove from team on a member who no longer needs access, or
- the owner moves to a plan with more seats.
Shopify staff who opened SemPost take seats too.
A rule can't be switched on
Your plan allows … active rules. Pause another rule or move to a bigger plan. A new rule is then saved switched off.
- On Automation, press Pause on a rule you can do without.
- Press Switch on on the rule you want.
Paused rules don't count toward the limit.
Uploading to Media is refused
The library is full, and files in the trash still count. To make room, remove files from the library, or delete files in the trash for good with Delete now.
- In Media, open Trash and press Delete now on files you don't need: they're gone for good and free their space at once.
- Or, in Library, press Remove from library on files you no longer use.
Not enough credits, or the budget is reached
Generate is off: You do not have enough credits for this.
- Make the job smaller: fewer products or accounts, or the Product photo style, which uses the store's own photo for free, instead of a scene picture.
- Or the owner buys a credit pack or a bigger plan: Get credits in the summary opens Settings › Billing.
Generate is off: Your daily credit budget leaves … for today, less than this job needs.
The workspace's own cap stops the job, not your balance. The monthly cap says Your monthly credit budget leaves … for this month, less than this job needs.
- Make the job smaller, or wait for the next day or month, or
- an admin or the owner opens Budget settings and raises Daily cap (credits) or Monthly cap (credits), then presses Save budget.
Generate is off: Image storage is not set up yet, so generation cannot start for now.
Generation isn't open for your workspace yet. Try again later, or write to [email protected].
More messages about credits and jobs: Generation problems.
Something has to be done first
- Go to the payment page or Buy the extra account is off: tick every box in the window.
- Buy on a plan is off: the line above it names what's over that plan's limits, such as Stores 2/1. Remove it, then come back.
- Buy on a credit pack is off with Buy a plan before a credit pack. Buy a plan first.
- Change plan in the change window is off: remove what's listed under Before switching to …, or tick Keep the … accounts over the plan as extra accounts: … from the renewal for social accounts.
- Buy an extra account, Cancel subscription or Withdraw from contract here isn't there: see Payment and billing problems.
- Live publishing can't be switched on with During the beta, live publishing is switched on with our team's approval. Write to us when you are ready. Write to [email protected]. With Owners and admins change the publish mode., ask one of them.
A whole page doesn't open
- Two-factor authentication is required: a workspace you belong to requires it. Turn it on in Settings › Security with Turn on 2FA: see Two-factor authentication.
- Our Terms of Service have changed: accept the new Terms first; until then only Billing, Profile, Workspace and Team open. See When the Terms of Service change.
- This workspace has no plan yet or Your plan is closed: nothing is generated, automated or published until the owner buys a plan in Settings › Billing.
- … is being deleted: only the owner can press Take the deletion back. Other members can switch to another workspace from the menu.
In the Shopify admin
On Credit packs and extra accounts, the buttons are off when:
- Credit packs and extra social accounts can be added once the free trial ends. Wait for the trial to end.
- The subscription ends with this billing cycle, so nothing more can be added to it. Pick a plan again on Shopify's plan page first.
- Shopify doesn't bill development stores, so credit packs and extra social accounts are off here. They work on a live store.
- A pack's Buy is off because the cycle's limit is reached: the card shows This billing cycle: … of the … limit. Buy more in the next cycle.
Only the owner sees these buttons. See Paying through Shopify.
