How-to guide

When the Terms of Service change

What SemPost asks when its Terms of Service change, which pages stay open until you accept, and what you can do if you don't want to accept.

SemPost's Terms of Service change from time to time. Most changes, such as a clearer sentence or a correction, are listed in the Changes table at the end of the Terms and ask nothing of you. A material change, one that changes what you agreed to, needs your acceptance before you go on using SemPost. Each person accepts for themselves, whatever their role.

Before the change

When a material change is announced ahead, every account holder gets one email before it takes effect: Our Terms of Service change on …. It links the new Terms; the Changes table at the end of the page lists what changes. You don't need to do anything yet. The email also says what you can do if you don't want to accept.

Accept the new Terms

From the day the change takes effect, SemPost at app.sempost.ai opens on the page Our Terms of Service have changed first, whichever page you asked for, except Billing, Profile, Workspace and Team.

Read what changed

The page says since when the new Terms are in force. Terms of Service in the box opens them in a new tab; the Changes table at the end lists what changed. The line under the box links the Privacy Policy and the KVKK notice, for reading: you don't accept those.

Tick the box

Tick I accept the Terms of Service. Accept and continue stays off until you do.

Continue

Press Accept and continue. SemPost records the version you accepted, with the time, and opens the page you were going to.

Inside the Shopify admin, a notice above every page asks for the same acceptance and blocks nothing: see Use SemPost inside Shopify.

If you don't want to accept

Until you accept, only Settings › Billing, Settings › Profile, Settings › Workspace and Settings › Team open, so you can still leave in good order. The page links them all:

  • Billing: the owner can cancel the subscription so that nothing more is charged, or, within 14 days of a purchase, withdraw from it: see Cancelling and refunds.
  • Profile: download your own data with Export my data, or delete your account with Delete my account: see Export or delete your data.
  • Workspace (owners): download the workspace's data with Export the workspace's data, or delete the workspace with Delete workspace.
  • Team (owners): to leave the workspace to your colleagues, make another member an owner. An owner's own account can be deleted only once the workspaces they own are handed over or deleted.
  • Sign out, at the bottom of the page, signs you out.

If something goes wrong

  • The Terms of Service changed while this page was open. Reload the page to read the version in force. A newer version came while the page was open. Reload the page, read it and accept again.
  • Accept and continue is off. Tick the box above it first.
  • Every page brings you back to the new Terms. You haven't accepted yet: only Billing, Profile, Workspace and Team open until you do.
