How-to guide

Cancelling and refunds

Cancel your subscription at the end of the period, change your mind before it ends, and see what a refund does to your credits.

The workspace's owner can cancel the subscription at any time. The plan stays on until the end of the period you paid for, then closes. Cancelling gives no money back for the rest of the period: the plan simply runs until then.

Cancel the subscription

Open Billing

Go to Settings › Billing and, on the Your subscription card, press Cancel subscription.

Confirm on Stripe's page

Stripe's secure page opens: confirm the cancellation there. You can give a reason too. You can also cancel under Manage subscription, or in your Link account at link.com.

Back in SemPost

The page says Cancellation received: your plan stays on until …, and the card says Your subscription is cancelled, with the day the plan closes.

Until the end of the period

The plan stays on: its credits can be used, scheduled posts go out and automation runs. Meanwhile, the plan can't be changed and no extra account can be bought; renew the subscription first if you want to.

When the period ends

The plan closes, without the 3 days a failed payment gets. No new credits load; generation, automation and publishing stop; credit packs wait, with their 12 months stopped; your data stays. Social accounts are disconnected 48 hours later. To go on, buy a plan again.

Change your mind

Before the plan closes, press Manage subscription and renew the subscription on Stripe's page. Back in SemPost, the page says Subscription details updated. and the card shows the renewal date again.

Deleting the workspace

Deleting the workspace in Settings › Workspace isn't the way to cancel: it ends a running subscription at once, without a refund for the days left, and taking the deletion back doesn't bring the subscription back. The deletion screen tells you how many days are left before you confirm.

Refunds

There's no refund button in SemPost: write to [email protected]. On the web, Link sells SemPost, so you can also ask Link's support from your Link account at link.com. Your rights are in the refund and cancellation rules, linked in the window before the payment page and in the purchase confirmation email.

When a payment is refunded, SemPost takes back the same share of the credits that payment loaded, as far as they're still unused. Credits already spent stay spent. For a credit pack, that's the pack's credits; for a subscription payment, the plan credits of its period and the credits a bigger plan added in that period. Credit activity shows them as Refund.

A payment for a plan change that couldn't be applied is refunded: see Change your plan. A workspace that pays through Shopify cancels on Shopify's plan page: see Paying through Shopify.

If something goes wrong

  • The workspace owner manages the subscription. Only an owner cancels: ask one.
  • Cancel subscription isn't on the card. The subscription is already cancelled: the card says until when the plan stays on.
  • This workspace has no subscription to manage here. The workspace has no subscription bought on the web: there's nothing to cancel.
  • Stripe could not be reached. Try again in a moment.
