Make a product video in the Video Studio

Build a product video shot by shot, watch a free draft, then make the final and post it from the Studio or download it.

The Video Studio builds a product video shot by shot. Each shot is a few seconds of one photo in motion: an AI camera move, a loop, a move from one photo to another, a scene that comes alive, or a free still. You add words on screen, a closing card, music, a voiceover and ambient sound. A free draft shows you the order and the timing; the final makes the AI shots, costs credits and goes into your library as a 1080×1920 video, ready for Reels, TikTok and Shorts.

Generate from products and the Studio's Make a video make slideshows that an AI clip can open. Choose the Video Studio when you want to direct each shot.

An example

Defne runs Lumora Home, a home decor shop. She wants a video of the Cappadocia Table Lamp for Reels and TikTok. She presses New project, then From a store, and picks the lamp: five photos arrive with its name, price and page. Pick with AI fills Highlights with short lines from its description. She presses Create the project, and the timeline is ready: a camera move on the first photo and three free stills.

In Scenes she has the AI place the lamp in a living room at night, opens the scene large and uses Continue from this scene with Lamps off. She adds the pair as a transition shot, so in the video the lamp switches on. In Sound and ending she switches on the Closing card and picks a calm music track. A free draft shows her the cut; she moves one shot earlier and presses Make the final · … credits. A few minutes later the final is in her library, and Make a post in the Studio puts it in the Studio's tray for her Instagram and TikTok accounts.

Start a project

Open the Video Studio

In the sidebar, under Create, choose Video Studio, then press New project. In the Shopify admin, open SemPost and choose Video Studio. From the Media page, a picture's … menu has Make a video in the Video Studio: the new project starts with that photo.

Add the photos

Under Photos, press From the library, From a store or From a product page. A project holds up to 12 photos; the first one opens the video. Photos of the product from several angles make better moves between them. A store's product or a product page also fills in the product's details.

Fill in the product

Give the project a Project name if you like, then the Product name, Price and Currency and the Product page. Highlights are short lines, one a line, that the ready-made cuts put on screen. A store's product fills them with the first sentences of its description; write your own, or press Pick with AI · … credits to have 3–5 short ones picked from the description.

Create it

Press Create the project. The editor opens on Shots with a timeline already made: an AI camera move on the first photo, then up to three of the next photos as free stills.

The editor

  • The steps, on top: Product, Scenes (optional), Shots, Sound and ending, Draft and Final and share. Open them in any order; a finished step gets a tick.
  • Preview and Timeline, in the middle (on a phone, at the top): the video plays here, and the timeline shows the shots from left to right.
  • The bar at the foot says how long the video is and what the final costs, names the next step, and holds Make a draft (free) and Make the final · … credits.
  • How the Video Studio works sums it up in three cards; Hide puts it away, and How it works brings it back.

Your photos, product details, shots and the choices in Sound and ending are saved as you go: leave the page whenever you like.

Build the video

Product

Add or remove photos with Pick photos and ×, and press a photo to see it large. The product's name, price and page fill the closing card, the highlights become words on screen in the ready-made cuts, and the page becomes the posts' link when you send the video to the Studio.

Scenes (optional)

A real setting brings the video to life, most of all when the product's photos are on a white background. Make a scene places the product in a new photo, from its real photos and a place, light and look you choose, for one scene's credits. The new photo joins the product's photos: add it as a shot with Add with a scene action, Add with a camera move or Add as a still, or Keep it in the photos for now. To make the next moment of the same place, open the scene large and press Continue from this scene. The scene window works as in the Studio: see Edit pictures and make scenes.

Shots

Press a shot on the timeline to open its settings: its kind, its photo, the camera, its length and its words on screen. Drag shots to change their order, and add more with Add a shot, Add shots from photos or a ready-made cut from Edit it for me. See Shots, camera moves and cuts.

Sound and ending

Switch on the Closing card, and add music, a voiceover and ambient sound if you like.

Draft

Press Make a draft (free). It uses no AI and is usually ready in under a minute: watch the order, the timing, the words on screen, the card and the music. The AI shots only move a little in it.

Final and share

Check the Final price, choose Other shapes and A/B variants if you want them, and press Make the final · … credits. You can leave the page while it's made. Then press Make a post in the Studio or Download. See Sound, the draft and the final.

Your projects

The Video Studio page lists your workspace's projects, the most recently changed first. Each card shows the first photo, Final ready once the project has a final, and when it was Updated. Delete the project, in the editor, deletes the project and its timeline. Its finals stay in your library; the shots' clips are deleted after 30 days.

What it costs

Projects, shots, ready-made cuts and drafts are free. Credits go to Pick with AI, Make the scene, an AI-planned cut (Plan it) and the final: each AI shot whose clip isn't made yet, the voiceover and the ambient sound. Every price is on its button before you press it.
