Shots, camera moves and cuts
Every kind of shot in the Video Studio, its settings and its price, and the quick ways to build a timeline from your photos.
A Video Studio video is a row of shots on the Timeline: up to 8, played from left to right and joined by soft cross-fades, with the closing card last. Each shot is a few seconds of one photo in motion. This page lists the kinds of shot, a shot's settings, and the tools that build several shots at once.
Kinds of shot
| Kind | What it does | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Camera move | The photo comes alive with AI and the camera moves as its presets say (a push-in without one). | Credits |
| Loop | The camera holds still while light and surroundings move; the clip ends on its first frame, so it loops. | Credits |
| Transition | The camera travels around the product from a Starting photo to an Ending photo. | Credits |
| Scene action | The scene in the photo comes alive the way you describe it: steam rises, hands open the box. | Credits |
| Still (free) | The photo moves gently under its presets, without AI. | Free |
Each AI shot is a clip of its own, 5 or 10 seconds long, with its own price, made when you make the final. A still lasts 2 to 8 seconds. Add a shot, at the end of the timeline, lists the kinds with their prices; a kind your workspace can't make now shows Unavailable.
A shot's settings
Press a shot on the timeline. Its settings open in the Shots step, saved as you change them:
- How the draft plays it: a small preview of its move, with what the final will add.
- Kind of shot: one of the five above.
- Photo, or Starting photo and Ending photo for a transition. Start where the previous shot ends (camera moves, scene actions and transitions, from the second shot on) starts it from the last frame of the shot before, so the movement carries on. If that shot changes, this one is made again too; a still or calm camera joins most smoothly, and after two or three continuations in a row the picture may soften.
- What happens? (a scene action): one or two sentences in your own words, the first thing first. Five seconds fit one action; make the shot 10 s for several. The ideas under the field fill it with a ready sentence, and All ideas lists them all. People in scenes are made up by AI: don't present them as someone recommending or reviewing the product.
- What happens in the transition? (optional): with words, the camera stays still and the change happens between the two photos, such as a lamp switching on; without, the camera moves from one photo to the other.
- AI model: the model the clip is made on, with its price. Default comes from Settings › AI models; a Quality model keeps the product's shape and detail better and costs more. The choice is for this shot only.
- Camera (Camera (optional) for a scene action): up to 2 presets together; a preset that clashes with a chosen one turns off. Movement strength is Light, Medium or Strong.
- Length: 5 s or 10 s for an AI shot, each with its price; ten seconds look calmer and cost more, and a model that can't make them says so. 2 to 8 seconds for a still.
- On-screen text: up to 80 characters over the shot, Top or Bottom. Free: changing it never makes the clip again.
Under them, the shot's price: The final makes its clip: … credits., or Its clip is made and kept; the final does not pay for it again. once a final has made it.
The camera presets
Static, Push in, Pull out, Slide left, Slide right, Rise, Lower, Orbit left, Orbit right, Handheld, Crash zoom, Macro, Turntable and Levitate. Point at one to read what it does and, for AI shots, watch an example made from a sample mug.
Buttons under a shot
- Apply to the other shots gives this shot's kind, camera, strength and length to the others; transitions and scene actions keep theirs.
- Make again · … credits lets the shot's clip go: the next final makes a new one and charges for it.
- Delete the shot takes it out. When its clip was paid for, SemPost asks first: adding the same shot again makes a new clip, at a new charge.
Clips that are kept
A final keeps each AI shot's clip on the shot, marked Ready on the timeline. The next final uses it again for free while the shot's photo, camera, strength, model, length and words stay the same; changing one of them makes a new clip at the next final. A clip not used for more than 30 days is made again too.
The timeline
- Drag a shot onto another one's place to change the order, or use its … menu: Move earlier, Move later, Delete the shot.
- Point at a shot to play its move as the draft shows it. Each tile shows its seconds in the video and its price: Free, Paid or its credits.
- Add a shot adds a shot after the selected one, on the next photo.
Build several shots at once
Edit it for me
Edit it for me opens Pick a cut. Choose the photos under Photos to use (the order you pick them in is their order in the video; All and Clear help), then a cut. The preview plays it before anything changes.
- Describe your cut: say in a sentence what video you want, then press Plan it · … credits. The AI looks at the first 8 photos you picked and plans the shots, with at most 3 AI shots. Plan again · … credits tries again.
- Product intro: an AI push-in with the product's name, then up to three stills with its highlights.
- Feature tour: up to six stills, each with another camera move. Free.
- 360° tour: AI transitions between photos taken from different angles, up to five photos. Needs 2 photos at least.
- Floating product: the product lifts into the air, then turns on its own axis (two AI shots), then up to two stills.
- Quick cut: up to eight two-second stills with quick moves, for Reels and stories. Free.
- Your own cuts: cuts you kept with Keep the current cut as a recipe, ready for other products' videos.
Pace makes a cut's stills a second shorter (Fast) or longer (Calm). Each card shows what its AI shots will cost at the final; nothing is charged until then, except Plan it. Press Use this cut: your current shots are kept under Saved cuts.
Add shots from photos
Add shots from photos adds one shot for each photo you pick, all of the same kind, model and camera; a transition goes from each photo to the next. Under Where, choose After the selected shot, At the end or Instead of the timeline. The line above the button adds up what the AI shots will cost at the final.
Saved cuts
Saved cuts keeps up to 5 earlier timelines: the ones a cut from Edit it for me or Instead of the timeline replaced, and the ones you keep with Keep the current cut. Use this brings one back and keeps the current one in its place; its clips come back with it. Delete removes it from the list.
If something goes wrong
- Cannot go together with a chosen move. or At most 2 moves together. on a greyed-out preset: take off one of the chosen presets first.
- This model cannot make a 10-second clip: … Set the length to 5 s, or pick another model.
- The chosen model is no longer offered; the default model will be used.
- This kind of shot cannot be made for this workspace right now. Pick another kind, such as Still (free).
- A transition goes from one photo to another: add a second photo to the product item first.
- Pick at least two photos for a transition. / The timeline holds at most 8 shots; there is room for ….
- This ready-made cut needs at least … photos.
- The video's pictures are no longer in the library. A photo a shot or a saved cut uses was deleted: pick another photo for that shot.
- The first shot has nothing before it to continue; move this shot to second place or later.
