How-to guide
Edit pictures and make scenes
Give a picture the right shape, a collage, a badge or a price for free, or have the AI place your product in a new setting before you post it.
The Studio has two tools for the pictures in its tray. Edit draws a new picture from yours: the shape a network wants, a collage, a line of text, a badge, a price or a discount code band. It's drawn by code and costs nothing. Make a scene has the AI place your product in a new photo, on a kitchen table, in a café or in a garden: the product stays the same, the setting is new. A scene costs credits, and you see it before it joins the tray.
An example: three scenes for a new mug
Ece has four photos of her new speckled mug, two of them on a white background. She wants three pictures for its launch week. With the photos in the Studio's tray, she makes three scenes. For each one she presses Make a scene and picks the two white-background photos under Source photos.
- Kitchen under Place, Daylight under Light, Lifestyle under Look: the mug on a counter in the morning. She presses Add as the cover.
- Café, Golden hour and, under People, Hands only. Under What else to show (optional) she writes "a croissant on a small plate". Add to the tray.
- Dining table and, under More options, Winter as the Season / occasion and A prop or two as the Props. Add to the tray.
Each scene costs one scene's credits, shown on its button. Then she presses Edit under the kitchen scene, types "NEW" as the Badge and 450 as the Price, and presses Save and put in the tray. Her post now opens with the priced kitchen scene.
Edit a picture
Open the editor
Press Edit under a picture in the tray. Edit the picture opens with that picture first and up to three pictures after it, for a collage.
Choose the pictures and the format
Under Pictures, keep one to four: the arrow under a picture (Make first) moves it to the large cell, and Change pictures picks others from Media. Under Format, choose Feed 4:5 (Instagram, Facebook, Threads), Square 1:1 (LinkedIn, Bluesky), Story 9:16 (stories, TikTok photos) or Pinterest 2:3.
Choose a layout
Under Layout, keep One picture or make a collage: Automatic (every picture you chose), Two, 1 + 2 or 2 × 2. A collage needs two to four pictures; a story keeps one picture, because the networks' bars would cover the cells.
Add text and labels
Text on the picture (up to 60 characters) goes on the title band of a Pinterest pin, or in the free area of a story; feed and square pictures take none. Under Labels, each one optional: a Badge such as "20% OFF", the Price with an Old price shown struck through, the Currency, and a Discount code band. Prices are written the way your workspace's language writes them.
Save
The preview beside the form follows each change. Give the picture a Title if you like, then press Save and put in the tray. The new picture goes into your library, where it counts toward your storage, and takes the edited picture's place in the tray. The picture you edited stays in Media.
Your logo isn't drawn into the picture: when it's on in Settings › Brand, it's added when a post is published, and the preview shows where. On a network of another shape, the picture is shown whole on a plain ground of its own colour, so its labels aren't cut off; make stories in Story 9:16, where the networks' bars cover the top and bottom. TikTok gets a labelled picture as it is.
Make a scene
Open the scene window
Under the tray, press Make a scene. Under Source photos (at most 2), pick the product's clearest photos: the window starts with the tray's first two pictures that weren't made with AI, so a scene you added as the cover isn't used again unless you pick it.
Describe the setting
Choose a Place, a Light and a Camera angle, and Blur the background if you like. Under People, keep None or choose Hands only, A person using it or Worn or held. More options adds a Surface, a Season / occasion, Props and Colours. Then pick a Look: Lifestyle, Professional, Studio, Minimal, Natural light or Luxury. A place, light, angle, surface, props or colours you don't choose are left to the look. What else to show (optional) takes your own words, up to 300 characters.
Make it
Press Make the scene · … credits. It takes about 20 to 40 seconds.
Keep it or make another
The scene is ready shows it large. Add as the cover puts it first, so it leads the posts; Add to the tray puts it after the pictures. Make another scene · … credits goes back to the window for another try, at another charge.
People in scenes are made up by the AI and aren't real; a person's face is mostly turned away. Don't present them as someone recommending or reviewing your product.
Where scenes are kept
Every scene you make goes to Media as AI generated, also the ones you don't add to the tray: delete those there if you like. A scene isn't in the library: like every AI picture, it's deleted 30 days after it was last used, unless you choose Save to library in its … menu. A picture you make from a scene with Edit is in the library and shows with AI parts.
A post with a scene among its pictures or in its collage, or with a video made from one (with Make a video, or the free slideshow The AI writes makes), gets the network's AI label where SemPost can set one, such as on Instagram and Pinterest. See AI labels on your pictures and videos.
What it costs
Edit is free. A scene costs one scene's credits on the workspace's image model, shown on the button: an answer that can't be used isn't charged, and Make another scene is a new charge. The Product scene model in Settings › AI models sets the price.
| Action | Credits | Other models |
|---|---|---|
| AI texts for one product's posts | 15 | 1–15 |
| An AI scene from your product photo | 22 | 15–54 |
| A 5-second motion clip | 40 | 40–300 |
| A voiceover of about 35 seconds | 4 | 3–4 |
| Ambient sound for a 20-second video | 60 | |
| Scheduling, publishing, analytics and slideshow videos | Free |
If something goes wrong
- Fix the marked fields to see the preview. A price is written in figures, such as 1120.87, and an Old price needs a Price first.
- The tray is full: take a picture out first. The tray holds 10 pictures. Close the window, take a picture out of the tray, then add the scene with Library: it waits in Media.
- No image model can be used right now on the button. Your workspace has no image model it may use: an admin can look at Settings › AI models.
- The price changed. Look at the new total before generating. The button now shows the new price: press it again if it suits you.
- The AI's answer could not be used. No credits were taken; try again.
- Not enough credits: this needs … credits and … are available. The owner can buy credits in Settings › Billing.
- The library is full, and files in the trash still count. … Saving an edited picture needs room in the library: see Your media library.
- The scene changed the product. Don't use it. Clear photos of the product alone, from two angles, help the AI keep its shape and colours.
