Explanation
Remove the app from Shopify
What happens to your plan, your workspace and its data when you remove SemPost from your Shopify admin, and what comes back if you install it again.
A workspace that came from the Shopify App Store goes with the app. Removing SemPost from your Shopify admin closes the plan at once, and about 48 hours later the workspace is deleted with everything in it. It's also the only way to delete such a workspace: in Settings › Workspace, the Delete the workspace card has no delete button, only this note: This workspace pays through Shopify. To delete it, remove SemPost in the Shopify admin (Settings › Apps). Shopify asks SemPost to delete its data 48 hours later, and the workspace goes then.
Keep a copy first
Before you remove the app, an owner or admin can download the workspace's data: in Settings › Workspace, under Export the workspace's data, press Prepare an export. An email says when it's ready, and you download it there within 24 hours. See Export or delete your data.
As soon as the app is removed
- The plan closes. Generation, automation and publishing stop. A scheduled post whose time comes isn't sent: it fails with Not sent: the workspace's plan is closed.
- The subscription ends with the app, and its extra social accounts end with it. Credit packs can't be used while the plan is closed.
- Your shop's connection goes. Shopify (SemPost app) leaves Settings › Store connections, and SemPost no longer reads your products.
- SemPost leaves your Shopify admin. Members who have a SemPost password can still sign in at app.sempost.ai and see the workspace until it's deleted. Owners and admins can still download its data there.
- 48 hours later, the social accounts are disconnected, as whenever a plan closes.
About 48 hours later, the workspace is deleted
About 48 hours after the removal, Shopify asks SemPost to delete the shop's data. SemPost checks with Shopify that the app is still removed, then deletes the workspace for good:
- its posts, media, automation rules, analytics, brand settings, store and social account connections, and its team;
- the SemPost accounts of members who belong to no other workspace. Members of other workspaces keep their account and those workspaces.
This can't be undone. Posts already published stay on the networks: delete them there if you don't want them.
Install SemPost again
Before the workspace is deleted, install SemPost again and open it from the Shopify admin: the same workspace comes back with its posts, media, team and settings, and your shop is connected again. Then:
- Pick a plan on Shopify's plan page again: the earlier subscription ended with the app. Credit packs work again once the plan is on; add extra social accounts again if you need them.
- In each automation rule that took products from the shop, press Edit, choose the store again in Products, save and press Switch on. Until then the rule says Stopped because the store connection was removed. Choose another source and switch it on again.
- Connect again the social accounts that were disconnected meanwhile.
After the workspace is deleted, installing SemPost again starts a new, empty workspace, as the first time did.
Either way, the free trial's credits come once per shop: installing the app again doesn't bring them back. The plan's monthly credits come with its first billing cycle.
