What each network reports

What SemPost reads from the networks for Analytics, how often it's refreshed, how far back it goes and what happens to it when an account leaves.

SemPost doesn't count views or likes itself. It reads what each network reports, through Zernio, its publishing partner, and shows it on Analytics. Posts you shared on the network directly come in too.

How far back:

  • When you connect an account, SemPost reads its posts of the last year; after that, each new one.
  • The measurements cover the last year. All time shows that year at the top of the page, and every post SemPost has in the table.
  • Instagram account insights cover the last 90 days at most.

On every network

  • The numbers: impressions, reach, views, likes, comments, shares, saves and clicks. Each network reports its own set and counts it its own way. A number a network doesn't report stays at 0, and the table hides a column that no post on the page has.
  • Engagement rate is worked out the same way everywhere: likes, comments, shares and saves divided by impressions, or by reach or views where impressions don't come back.
  • Older posts: once a day SemPost also reads each account's 25 newest posts straight from the network, where the network allows it, with their likes and comments, and shares where the network gives them. That's how an account that hasn't posted for over a year still shows its latest posts: with those numbers only, and without a daily timeline.
  • Deleted posts: a post you delete on the network leaves Analytics once the network reports it.
  • Test mode: posts validated in test mode were never shared, so no network reports on them.

Network by network

NetworkWhat's different
InstagramInstagram account insights adds the account's reach, views, accounts engaged, total interactions, likes, comments, saves, shares, follows and unfollows and profile link taps. Instagram gives the last 90 days at most and can be up to 48 hours late; the card lists what it didn't give for the period.
LinkedInWhen a LinkedIn account is removed, SemPost deletes what it got from LinkedIn at once, its analytics included, as LinkedIn's terms require. Connected again, the account starts without its history.
Facebook, TikTok, Pinterest, YouTube, Threads, Bluesky, Google Business ProfileWhichever of the numbers above the network reports.

When an account leaves

  • An account waiting to be reconnected stays in Analytics.
  • A removed account leaves it: its posts and followers aren't shown. They come back when you connect the same account again, LinkedIn's apart: see Nightly checks and reconnecting.
  • Analytics are part of the workspace's data: a data export includes them, and deleting the workspace deletes them. See Export or delete your data.
