Explanation
No misleading prices
Why automation posts state only today's price, what they may say about discount codes and dates, and what happens to a post that claims more.
Automation posts state only the price a product has today. They don't write a former or compared price, a discount percentage, or that stock or time is running out. When SemPost's check still finds such a claim in a post, the post stays a draft until a person looks at it.
Why only today's price
In Türkiye, a shop that announces a price cut must show the lowest price of the last 30 days as the price before, and the EU has a similar rule. A rule that posts every day can't know that price for each product, so a former price or a percentage off could be wrong, in public. SemPost keeps to the price your store gives today.
What a post may say
- Today's price, when Mention the price is on in the rule's Content step. On the picture, the Price label shows the same price, never a struck-through former one.
- Your discount code, from Discount code (optional). The text may name it, and the Discount code band puts it on the picture.
- An end date, only when you give it yourself in Campaign or theme (optional). Without a date there, the AI is told not to write a deadline. An end on a date passes ("The offer ends on 30 November"); an end counted from today ("Ends Sunday", "Last day!") is held, with or without a date.
What gets a post held
The AI gets these rules with every product of a rule. After it writes, SemPost checks the post's text, its title, its Text on the picture and the picture's Badge:
| Held as a draft | Passes |
|---|---|
| A discount percentage: "20% off", "Save 25% on the lamp" | A plain price: "Handmade ceramic mug, 450 TL." |
| A former or compared price: "Was $40, now $30", "450 TL instead of 600 TL" | A percentage that isn't a discount: "100% cotton, so soft" |
| Stock or time running out: "Only 2 left!", "Limited stock", "Today only", "Last day!", "Ends Sunday", "Last chance" | A discount code: "Use code KOD10 at checkout"; an end on a date: "The offer ends on 30 November" |
| A badge that announces a sale or a deadline: 10% OFF, SALE, LAST DAYS | Other words, such as "Tea works instead of coffee too" or "Free shipping over 500 TL", and badges such as NEW |
The check knows these wordings in Turkish and English ("%20 indirim", "600 TL yerine", "Son 3 ürün kaldı", "Son gün" and "Yarın bitiyor" are held too), and catches discount percentages and "instead of" prices in German, French, Spanish, Italian and Dutch as well.
When a post is caught
The post stays in the Drafts tab of the Approval queue, even when approval is off, and keeps the time the rule chose. Its card says SemPost is holding this post as a draft and why, for example: The text or the picture's badge makes a price, discount or deadline claim that can't be proven: “20% off”. Take the words out or press Rewrite the text, then send the post on: see Fix a post a safeguard held.
A badge that makes a claim would hold every post whose picture carries it, so the rule's preview warns you while you set the rule up: The badge “…” claims a price, a discount or a deadline. Pick one of the badges offered under the Badge field (OUR PICK, DISCOVER, NEW), or words that are true for every product of the rule.
When your store doesn't run the rule's discount code now (it has ended, hasn't started yet or has been used up), the preview warns The discount code … isn't active in the store now. For products from a connected store, the rule's posts are then held just before they go out: see Checked again just before posting.
