How-to guide

Approve several posts and plan them

Select waiting posts, check the time each one will get, and approve them all at once.

When several posts wait in the Approval queue, you can approve them in one go. Before anything is planned, SemPost shows the time each post will get, so nothing goes out at a time you haven't seen.

Approve several posts

Select the posts

On the Waiting tab, tick the box on each post, or tick Select all above the list. A bar at the bottom counts them, for example "5 posts selected".

Press Approve and plan

Press Approve and plan in the bar. A window lists each selected post with its account, its network, the start of its text and the time it will go out, in your workspace's time zone.

The window 5 posts will go out at these times, with each post's account, network, text and time

Check the times

A post whose own time is still ahead keeps it. Every other post gets its account's first free time, and posts of the same account are placed one after another: each takes the next free time, under the account's daily count and 4 hours from its other posts. Cannot be planned next to a post means it can't be approved as it is: see below.

Approve

Press Approve and plan in the window. SemPost tells you how many posts were planned and how many could not be done. Cancel closes the window and changes nothing.

Posts without a time

A post without a time, or whose proposed time has passed, goes to the first free time of its account: SemPost starts 30 minutes from now and looks up to three weeks ahead. If the account has no free time in that span, give the post a time with Edit, then approve it. See how the first free time is chosen in Time zones, best times and daily limits.

Reject or delete several posts

The bar also has Reject, Delete and Clear selection. Reject rejects every selected post at once, without a note; to tell the writers why, reject the posts one by one. Editors see only Delete and Clear selection.

Delete doesn't ask again

Delete in the bar deletes the selected posts right away. This can't be undone.

If something goes wrong

A post shows Cannot be planned, or stays in the queue after the others are planned, when:

  • someone changed it after you opened the queue: look at its card again, then approve it;
  • it isn't ready: fix what its card lists under To fix first:;
  • its account has no free time in the next three weeks: give it a time with Edit;
  • its own time falls on a day that is full, and your workspace allows no more posts that day: give it another time with Edit;
  • its account needs reconnecting: reconnect it in Settings › Social accounts;
  • someone else approved, rejected or deleted it first.
